Future NHL Hockey Prospects

According to many online NHL resources, there are currently several notable hockey prospects for the upcoming 2012 season.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

At six foot even and 164 pounds, Ryan plays for the Edmonton Oilers. There is some speculation that because of his current weight, that perhaps he does not have what it takes to withstand a full NHL season; however, there is no denying his playmaking skills, his excellent vision and strong play in his own zone. He is certainly considered a formidable player by his opponents and makes those around him better players whenever he has the puck on his stick.

Adam Larsson

Larsson plays for the New Jersey Devils. He is six foot three and weighs 197 pounds. Larsson is considered one of the best defense prospect's currently in the draft and certainly has potential as an elite top-pairing defense player. He is cool and calm on the ice with a playing demeanor that belies his age.

Brayden Schenn

At six foot ones and 190 pounds, Schenn is a key player for the Philadelphia Flyers. He was an unstoppable force that dominated the junior-level last season. Schenn's future holds several opportunities to play for the NHL during this upcoming season.

Ryan Johansen

Johansen, of the Columbus Blue Jackets, has certainly had a prolific junior career. At six foot two and 192 pounds, Johansen has scored 161 points in 134 games. As a hockey player, Johansen is considered to have some of the top skills in the game today.

In addition the the above-named players, some other names to look for as current NHL prospects are, Oliver Ekman-Larsson of the Phoenix Coyotes, Johathan Bernier of the Los Angeles Kings, David Rundblad of the Ottawa Senators and Vladmir Tarasenko of the St. Louis Blues.
